Business trip to Villach: an apartment instead of a hotel room
From the third night onwards a hotel room gets small. An apartment by Lake Ossiach often costs less, has a kitchen, and is still close enough to Villach to get you to a morning meeting on time.
The location
Lake Ossiach lies between Villach and Feldkirchen. Villach has a railway station and motorway access, and the A10 Tauern motorway runs past.
For meetings in Villach, Klagenfurt, Feldkirchen or on the Italian and Slovenian side of the three-country corner, this is a workable base. We send the exact address and directions with the booking confirmation.
What an apartment does better
Kitchen. After three restaurant evenings you have had enough. A fridge and a hob change a lot.
Space. The Ossiachersee apartment is 63 square metres for two people, with a balcony, a bathtub and a separate WC. That is not a hotel category, it is a flat.
Quiet. No neighbours through the wall, no housekeeping knocking at nine.
Invoice. You receive a proper invoice. Please give us the company address and VAT number before it is issued.
What a hotel does better
Breakfast with no effort. A reception desk around the clock. And a room somebody tidies every day. If that matters more to you than a kitchen, take the hotel – we would rather say so in advance.
After work
The shore path is flat and usually free of snow even in winter. With an hour to spare, walk a stretch by the water. With two, take the Kanzelbahn from Annenheim up the Gerlitzen and look down on the lake from 1,440 metres.
In summer: swimming, stand-up paddling, the cycle path around the lake. In winter: skiing on the Gerlitzen, the Warmbad thermal spa, and at the end of February the Villach carnival.
